Our first Kokua farm tour in Waianae was a great success thanks to the aloha of our participants and especially the farmers that we visited. The day started early with 25 of us meeting at the parking lot of Kokua then carpooling out to Waianae, where our tour eventually hit over 30 participants. Give It Fresh Today: A success story in the making!
Give it Fresh Today is a produce donation project. We started officially on 1/2/2010 and have had an amazing response from the public. In our first three weeks we have collected over 600 pounds of food for the Institute of Human Services and Unity Church of Hawaii. We collect produce donations from the shoppers at the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation's Kapiolani Community College farmer's market on Saturdays between 7:30-11:00am and… Continue

Here are some of the photos we took yesterday! What a beautiful bountiful way to start off the new year. 63 people donated! Bale started our morning off with a donation of 7 TRAYS of bread! Individual shoppers came out asked questions and donated, people with fruit frees came with bags and boxes of tangerines and breadfruit for the project to distribute, and there was much excitement in the air for the future of this project and all the possibilities ahead!
